MACEDONIA, Ohio (AP) — Police records show that investigators have connected more than 60 online child pornography files to a school board president in northeast Ohio.

Agents with the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force say Steven Bittel's computer IP address was involved in a peer-to-peer file sharing network involving child pornography. The Nordonia Hills school board president was arrested Friday following a five-hour standoff with police at his Sagamore Hills home.

The 53-year-old Bittel is being held in the Summit County jail with a $750,000 bond set during his initial court appearance Monday in Stow Municipal Court.

He's charged with pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor, three counts of aggravated assault, discharging a firearm and inducing panic.

His attorney said he couldn't comment extensively until he knows more about the evidence.
