COLUMBUS, Ga. (AP) — Columbus State University President Timothy Mescon has announced plans to step down from his post at the end of the year.
Officials say Mescon is planning to move to Amsterdam to become the inaugural Senior Vice President and Chief Officer of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The organization is a global nonprofit composed of schools, businesses and other entities working to advance management education.
Mescon was appointed as CSU's fourth president in August 2008 and served as dean of the Coles College of Business at Kennesaw State University for 18 years.
Officials say the university launched its first doctoral program and other graduate programs during Mescon's tenure.
