MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) — Students in a northern Idaho school district will get two more weeks of summer vacation after construction delays led the school board to postpone the start of the school year. The Moscow-Pullman Daily News reports that at least one bathroom in each school in the Moscow School District is still under construction. The school year was supposed to begin August 26, but has been pushed back until September 8.

PLATTE CITY, Mo. (AP) — Missouri authorities say they arrested an Idaho man who witnesses said was pointing a gun at traffic along Interstate 29 north of Kansas City. Sheriff's deputies said they used a stun gun on 46-year-old William Elders to take him into custody late yesterday after several witnesses reported seeing a man walking along the interstate with a rifle. Authorities did not specify where in Idaho Elders is from.

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) — A Minneapolis man has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit money laundering after $200,000 was found in his trunk during a traffic stop in northern Idaho last year. Charging documents say Allan Hayes told investigators the money was the proceeds of the sale of marijuana and that he was taking the money to California to pay for marijuana that had already been sold.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Idaho's Superintendent of Public Instruction has taken a job with a national organization that promotes science, technology, engineering and math education programs. Tom Luna says he'll begin working as a vice president for Project Lead the Way early next year. Luna announced in January that he would not run for re-election to the state post.
