TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — The University of Arizona has withdrawn its recognition of a fraternity that school officials say committed multiple code-of-conduct violations.
University officials say Phi Gamma Delta must cease all activities on campus through April 2019.
They say withdrawal of recognition is initiated when an organization presents a substantial risk to the members of the university community.
The UofA suspended the fraternity in July.
An investigation conducted by the UofA Dean of Students Office found that chapter members engaged in hazing, provided alcohol to minors and conspired to not cooperate with university officials and university police.
School officials say the violations occurred while the chapter was under probation and a suspension that prohibited events with alcohol.
