FERGUSON, Mo. (AP) — The full findings of the St. Louis County autopsy on Michael Brown are not expected for another two weeks, but the medical examiner's office says it has determined that the 18-year-old was shot six to eight times in the head and chest. Pathologists hired by Brown's family say their examination revealed a bullet wound to his right arm that may indicate his hands were up or his back was turned, though they say they don't have enough information to be sure.

FERGUSON, Mo. (AP) — St. Louis County police have set up a designated protest zone in Ferguson, Missouri, where the killing of an unarmed 18-year-old by a white police officer has sparked a week of protests. Gov. Jay Nixon has ordered the National Guard to Ferguson after last night's demonstrations turned violent, but it's unclear when those troops will arrive. President Barack Obama is warning that a small minority is undermining justice for Michael Brown and his family by attacking police and looting.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama is hailing the recapture of the Mosul Dam in northern Iraq as a "major step forward" in the battle against Islamic State group militants. But he's also warning Iraq's leaders that "the wolf's at the door." Obama is urging Iraq's badly fractured government to quickly forge a united front and give hope to Sunni tribes who've been marginalized.

ABOARD THE PAPAL PLANE (AP) — Pope Francis says efforts to stop Islamic militants from attacking religious minorities in Iraq are legitimate. On his return flight from South Korea, reporters asked Francis if he approved of the unilateral U.S. airstrikes on militants of the Islamic State group. Francis says stopping "an unjust aggressor" is acceptable, but the international community — and not just one country — should decide how to do it.

YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. (AP) — An 8-year-old girl has died after falling about 550 feet while hiking in Yellowstone National Park. The National Park Service says the accident occurred yesterday morning in the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone as the girl and her family were hiking to an overlook. The agency says the child apparently stepped off the trail and lost her footing.
