RENO, Nev. (AP) — Residents of a northwest Reno neighborhood are still digging out a day after a sudden downpour sent a flow of mud and debris cascading down Peavine Peak and onto their lawns and streets.
The storm began with hail about 2 p.m. Monday, followed by heavy rain and flooding from an undeveloped area above Robb Drive along Moose Ridge Drive. Some lawns were covered by up to a half foot of mud.
Phillip Schultz told KOLO-TV (http://tinyurl.com/lwqfyoj) the mudslide sent several boulders the size of bowling balls into the street.
Schultz says he's never seen anything quite like it. He says his home didn't suffer any damage but he spent about two hours shoveling mud off his lawn.
