WEST DEPTFORD, N.J. (AP) — An early morning drive-by shooting left the outside of a southern New Jersey police station riddled with bullets, but no officers were injured, authorities said Tuesday.

Police in West Deptford, near Philadelphia, said a dark-colored sedan drove through the parking lot just after 4 a.m., and someone fired seven rounds toward the building, which houses the police department and other municipal offices.

Six bullets hit the outside of the building and the seventh went through the window of the deputy chief's office, Lt. Stephen Meduri told The Associated Press in a telephone interview. Four officers were working at the time, but only the supervisor was in the station when the shots were fired.

Deputy Chief Sean McKenna said at a news conference Tuesday that the department had not received threats, but "they were clearly out to hurt one of our officers."

Police have video of the suspect's vehicle, but not of the shooting. Authorities are trying to enhance the video to gather license plate and vehicle information. Meduri said it's unclear how many people were in the car. He described the bullets as "large-caliber," without elaborating.

Police had received several "soft leads," McKenna said, and were continuing to receive tips Tuesday.

A $25,750 reward was being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
