CLAVERACK, N.Y. (AP) — State police say a woman has been badly burned in a utility shed fire in Claverack.
The woman, in her 50s, is in stable condition at Westchester Medical Center's burn unit. The fire happened around 6:30 a.m. Thursday.
The Times Union of Albany reports (bit.ly/1kMJml7) that firefighters and police were called to a home in Claverack where a shed was engulfed in flames. Passersby found the woman outside the shed.
Fire officials say the woman has suffered third-degree burns over a large part of her body. Troopers have not identified her.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
Claverack is about an hour south of Albany.
