INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — State health officials say a case of measles has been diagnosed in central Indiana and people who visited three clinics and a restaurant may have been exposed to the virus.
The state Department of Health said Friday it's working with local health departments and hospitals to identify additional measles cases.
The agency says people who visited St. Vincent Immediate Care Center in Zionsville on July 17, St. Vincent Carmel Hospital Emergency Department in Carmel on July 19 and St. Vincent Outpatient Treatment Center in Carmel on July 20 may have been exposed to the virus.
People who visited Ocean World Restaurant in Indianapolis on July 18 may have also been exposed to the highly contagious respiratory disease, which is particularly dangerous for children and can prove deadly in rare cases.
