BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Members of Occupy Boise are asking a federal judge to order the state of Idaho to pay more than $175,000 in attorney costs and legal fees after the group won a lawsuit over rules designed to curb protests and rallies around the Capitol. Under federal law, the winner of a lawsuit can generally seek to recover attorney's fees and costs from the losing side. The amount must be approved by a judge and can be appealed.
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) — A body has been recovered from the shore of American Falls Reservoir in eastern Idaho. Chief Deputy Sheriff Jackie Morris says the body was recovered Monday, but no identification has been made. An autopsy is planned.
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — A 23-year-old southern Idaho woman police say hit her 6-year-old daughter outside a Twin Falls bar is facing a misdemeanor charge of injury to a child. Twin Falls police say they responded Saturday to a report of an intoxicated woman yelling at a little girl and hitting her. The girl was taken into protective custody.
KETCHUM, Idaho (AP) — The U.S. Forest Service and Sun Valley Resort have started a tree-thinning project at the ski area on Bald Mountain. The Idaho Mountain Express reports that 25 acres are being thinned in one area this year and that about 182 acres will be thinned during the next three to five years. Officials say the thinning will take out trees killed by insects as well as infected trees while preserving healthy trees.
