KHARKIV, Ukraine (AP) — The Dutch prime minister says the government aims to have the first bodies from Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 back in the Netherlands tomorrow. He says a plane is ready to take the first remains out of the Ukrainian government-controlled town of Kharkiv, where they arrived earlier today after being released by pro-Russian rebels. Rebels also handed over the black boxes of the plane, which was shot down last week over eastern Ukraine as it flew from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

MOSCOW (AP) — President Vladimir Putin says Russia will do "everything in its power" to facilitate an investigation into the Malaysia Airlines passenger jet crash. But at the same time, he's accusing Ukraine and the West of escalating the conflict in the region. During a meeting with Russia's Security Council today, Putin said Russia was willing to put pressure on the rebels, but that "that was not enough" to resolve the situation.

JERUSALEM (AP) — More than two weeks of fighting between Israel and Hamas militants has killed more than 600 Palestinians and 29 Israelis, and an Israeli soldier is reported missing. Meanwhile, Secretary of State John Kerry met in Cairo today with Egyptian officials and U.N. chief Ban Ki-moon in the highest-level push yet to end the deadly conflict.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The interim CEO of the Los Angeles Clippers is expected to take the stand today at a Los Angeles trial to determine whether the sale of the team to former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer can go ahead. CEO Richard Parsons supports Shelly Sterling's bid to sell the team, which her estranged husband, Donald Sterling, opposes. Donald Sterling was banned from the NBA for life after making racist recorded comments.

LONDON (AP) — It's a big milestone for Britain's Prince George today. He's a year old, and it's a national event for the third in line to the British throne. Newspaper headlines are hailing him as "Gorgeous George." A 24-page glossy magazine chronicles George's first 12 months. Mom and dad — Prince William and his wife Kate — plan a small party at Kensington Palace.
