Raising Socially Healthy Kids In todays world are we teaching enough?
Are we raising children who are incapable of holding conversations? The Girl Scouts did a study and they found that 75% of the girls, who use today's technologies, use it to make themselves appear cooler with other girls. And 50 % of the girls say they aren't as careful as they should be when using the different sites. Are we creating a generation of non-communicators because of technology? Is this really a problem? On the average the screen time per day for our youth is 7 and 1/2 to 8 hours. Media Expert Sarah Coyne from BYU states that our kids at the most, should have only 1 to 2 hours of screen time daily. Is all this time spent on technology inhibiting their ability to carry a normal conversation with real people? Is the next generation only going to talk in text code? Will they lose the ability to meaningfully connect with people?
