TOOELE- Miller Motorsports Park is pleased to announce the creation of the Miller Motorsports Park Amateur Motocross Showdown, an amateur motocross event that will support the Zions Bank Utah National, Round 12 of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship.

"We are really excited about the Miller Motorsports Park Amateur Motocross Showdown," said Dan McKeever, Vice President of Operations for Miller Motorsports Park. "Adding motocross to our schedule has been a very steep learning curve. We wanted to get the first year of pro motocross under our belts before we tackled an amateur event. To aid in the process we've enlisted the help of David Harvey, the amateur race director from California's legendary Hangtown track, to show us the ropes. With his help, and a lot of hard work on our part, we're confident that this is going to be a huge success."

It will be an independently sanctioned event, run to AMA rules regarding bike size, classifications, etc., and will be hand-scored.
