LAS VEGAS- Las Vegas broke open a tie game with back to back three run innings, as the 51s rolled to a 7-3 win over the Salt Lake Bees on Monday night. After Bees' catcher John Hester blasted a solo HR to left center in the fifth to tie the game at 1-1, Las Vegas regained the lead in the bottom of the inning. Brandon Allen and Josh Satin singled to put runners at first and second with no outs. Two outs later, Matt den Dekker doubled to bring home Allen with the go ahead run. Mark Reynolds followed with a two run single to make it 4-1. In the 6th, the 51s extended their lead on a three run homer by Allen.
Salt Lake starter Jarrett Grube (5-3) was charged with the loss.
The Bees closed out the scoring with a two run homer by J.B. Shuck in the eighth inning. Salt Lake starter Jarrett Grube (5-3) was charged with the loss, as he went five and one-third innings and allowed seven runs on eight hits with five strikeouts and two walks. Las Vegas has now taken all five games between the two teams this season.
