BOISE, Idaho (AP) — An anti-abortion organization says Boise State University is violating free speech laws by limiting students' protest to just a handful of areas on campus. Abolitionists4Life filed the lawsuit against the university Friday. Student protesters are required to reserve in advance space at one of six designated protest areas on campus.
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Five environmental groups have filed a federal lawsuit against the state of Idaho over incidental trapping of federally protected Canada lynx. They contend the state is violating the Endangered Species Act by allowing recreational trapping that inadvertently ensnares lynx. The groups want the Idaho Department of Fish and Game to develop a conservation plan that would include restrictions on certain traps.
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A 71-year-old Oregon man is in critical condition after his small plane crashed in central Idaho. KTVB reports that Jay Minor was piloting a Cessna 182 when he crashed near the Big Creek Airstrip in Valley County. The Valley County Sheriff's Office says Minor was airlifted to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise Sunday with life-threatening injuries.
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) — Crews are searching for an Idaho Falls man who was in a rafting accident on the South Fork of the Snake River near Rigby. The Jefferson County sheriff's office says 21-year-old Mason Empey fell into the water yesterday as he tried to retrieve an oar. He was not wearing a life jacket.
