CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) — A hearing to set a trial date for a southeast Missouri man who admitted exposing up to 300 people to HIV has been pushed back until August.
The Southeast Missourian (http://bit.ly/1qW0jLd ) reports David Lee Mangum of Dexter is facing 21 counts of recklessly exposing another to HIV. He was scheduled to appear in court last Tuesday, but the hearing was moved to Aug. 5 while he remains behind bars without bond.
The 21 counts involve two victims who say Mangum lied to them about his HIV status. His bond was revoked in September after Judge Joe Satterfield declared that he was a danger to the community.
Mangum told investigators he tested positive for HIV in 2003. He claimed 300 partners since being tested, including 50 to 60 in Stoddard County.
