ROANOKE, Va. (AP) — Courtney Garrett has been crowned Miss Virginia 2014.
The 21-year-old from Pamplin will represent Virginia in the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City, New Jersey, in September.
Garrett received the crown Saturday night during the Miss Virginia Pageant at the Roanoke Civic Center. She also received a $17,500 scholarship.
Pamplin is a graduate student at Liberty University who's working on her master's degree in business administration.
Casey Shepard was crowned Miss Virginia's Outstanding Teen. Emily Kinsey was crowned Miss Virginia's Outstanding Pre-Teen.
