VERNON, Ariz. (AP) — Officials say they're hopeful of a second day of calmer winds today, which could help crews make progress against a wildfire that has charred nearly 8 square miles in eastern Arizona's White Mountains. Officials say there's still no containment on the blaze, which is human-caused.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A Libyan militant is being held in an undisclosed location after pleading not guilty during a brief federal court appearance yesterday to a terrorism charge related to the deadly attack in Benghazi. Prosecutors say they expect to file more changes against Ahmed Abu Khattala (hah-TAH'-lah), the alleged mastermind of the attacks.

NEW DELHI (AP) — An apartment structure under construction in southern India has collapsed, killing at least nine construction workers. Police have detained two construction company directors. Rescuers are using gas cutters and shovels to search for workers believed buried in the rubble. It's the second of two weekend collapses. The first was an older apartment building the fell, killing at least 11 people.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A three year old girl has been killed by a metal security grate that fell from the facade of an Italian ice shop in Philadelphia. The girl was at the Rita's Water Ice store in north Philadelphia with her mother during a fundraiser for a sorority and fraternity was underway. Fraternity members rushed to help and a witness estimates it took as many as 30 men to lift the gate.

JERUSALEM (AP) — Hundreds of African migrants say they're protesting delays by Israel in processing their claims for asylum. They marched out of an Israeli detention center today and are camped out by the Egyptian border after Israel's army prevented them from crossing. The migrants are imploring the U.N. to help resettle them elsewhere. About 50,000 Africans have poured into Israel in recent years from Egypt.
