BLOUNTVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Ken Roczen won the Red Bull Tennessee National on Saturday at Muddy Creek for his third Lucas Oil Pro Motocross victory in the first five events of the season.
The German Red Bull KTM rider finished second in the first 450 Class moto and won the second. Teammate Ryan Dungey was second overall, winning the first moto and finishing second in the second.
"I felt good out there," Roczen said. "I got a good start (in the second moto) and even had a close call out there with about two laps to go which caused me to lose a bit a time, but I still made it happen. I'm happy it's over. It was another good weekend and we were able to keep the points lead steady."
Roczen, third or better in every moto this season, has a 16-point lead over Dungey in the standings.
"All in all it was a good day," said Dungey. "I pushed it that whole second moto. I tried (to close in on Roczen) and got fortunate with the lappers coming in there, but then they came my way and it kind of averaged out. We gave it all we had and that was all I can do."
Honda's Eli Tomac, coming back from a broken collarbone, was third in both motos in his 450 Class debut.
Yamaha's Cooper Webb won for the first time in 250 Class, finishing second in the first moto and winning the second. Kawasaki's Blake Baggett was second. He won the first moto and was third in the second.
"I'm on Cloud 9," Webb said. "I'm not going to lie. I was beating myself up when I got passed in the last turn (in Moto 1), but I was able to come back and get the job done."
Yamaha's Jeremy Martin, seventh overall Saturday, leads the standings — eight points ahead of Webb.
