GOODMAN, Miss. (AP) — David C. Cole has been named interim president at Holmes Community College.

Cole, who served as Itawamba Community College's president for 20 years, will take over at Holmes on July 1 after current President Glenn F. Boyce begins his new position with the state College Board as associate commissioner for Academic Affairs.

Boyce has been president at Holmes since 2005.

The junior college's main campus is in Goodman with branches in Ridgeland, Kosciusko and Grenada.

Cole was selected this week by the Holmes' Board of Trustees.

Cole was superintendent of the South Panola School District from 1974 to 1992.

Coles received a bachelors, masters and doctorate degrees from the University of Mississippi.
