Pop star BRITNEY SPEARS insists she is a "good" mother to her baby son SEAN PRESTON, after becoming the target of criticism for her parenting skills.
Spears has repeatedly hit the headlines this year (06), thanks to a series of unfortunate blunders.
The Department Of Children And Family Services (DCFS) were called to Spears' Malibu, California home twice this year - in February (06) the singer was photographed driving with her son on her lap and in April (06) Sean Preston was briefly admitted to hospital after he fell from a faulty high-chair while in the care of his former nanny.
In an interview to be screened on Thursday's (15JUN06) edition of US TV show TODAY, Spears tells host MATT LAUER she feels she was been unfairly singled out by the media, who are waiting for her to make mistakes.
She says, "I can't go anywhere without someone judging me. I know I'm a good mom."
Referring to her February incident with Sean Preston, she explains, "I did it with my dad. I'd sit on his lap and he'd drive. We're country."
Spears also uses the interview to ask the paparazzi to leave her alone.
She says, "They've crossed the line a little bit. They like to have the person they pick on, I feel like I'm a target." (ES/WNWCNB/ZJS)
