MIAMI (AP) — Oakland Athletics catcher Derek Norris left Friday's game against Miami with lower back tightness but said he hopes to rejoin the lineup Sunday.

Norris moved awkwardly trying to stop a pitch in the dirt in the fourth inning. After consulting with a trainer, he left the game and was replaced by Stephen Vogt. Oakland won 9-5.

"It's a little tweak in the back," Norris said. "I wouldn't expect anything more than about a day off or so."

Norris said the injury was nowhere near as serious as a back problem that sidelined him in 2013.
