LONDON (AP) — Betting website 888poker is parting ways with Luiz Suarez after the Uruguay striker was banned from all football activities for four months for his third biting incident.

The betting company sealed a sponsorship deal with Suarez following his tremendous season with Liverpool, for which he scored 31 English Premier League goals and was voted the league's player of the year.

Suarez received the heavy punishment after he bit the shoulder of Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini during Uruguay's 1-0 win in the group stage of the World Cup on Tuesday.

The betting website said on Friday that "regrettably, following his actions during Uruguay's World Cup match against Italy on Tuesday, 888poker has decided to terminate its relationship with Luis Suarez with immediate effect."
