BRASILIA, Brazil (AP) — Ghana has called up Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu and Majeed Waris for its must-win match against Portugal at the World Cup on Thursday following its decision to throw Sulley Muntari and Kevin-Prince Boateng out of the squad for disciplinary reasons.
Waris makes his debut at the tournament and will partner Asamoah Gyan up front, while Agyemang-Badu comes into central midfield in place of Muntari.
Pepe returns from suspension and slots in at center back as one of four changes by Portugal, which also calls up William Carvalho, Ruben Amorim and Eder. Cristiano Ronaldo again starts in a three-man attack.
Both teams have one point from two Group G games and need to win to stand any chance of advancing.
