HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) — The Forrest County Agricultural High School District Board will vote in July on what to do about a $116,000 shortfall.
The Hattiesburg American reports (http://hatne.ws/1pRi6Bz ) members could ask the Forrest County Board of Supervisors to increase the millage enough to raise the $116,000.
The school board voted in June 2013 to ask the supervisors to increase the millage enough to make $1.7 million for the district. Supervisors voted for a 2.84-mill increase.
But school district business manager Stephen May said that increase wasn't enough.
May says school board members could vote to ask the supervisors to either raise the millage again to earn the $116,000 or they could decide to forgive the amount at a meeting scheduled for July 10.
