RENTON, Wash. (AP) — The Seattle Seahawks have signed rookie free agent wide receiver Kevin Smith after he was released by both Arizona and Jacksonville.
Seattle signed Smith on Wednesday, a day after clearing a roster spot by releasing rookie defensive tackle Andre Pulu.
Smith originally signed with the Cardinals after the draft and was released on June 4. He was claimed off waivers by Jacksonville a day later, but was released by the Jaguars on June 19.
Seattle is familiar with Smith because of proximity. He was a standout at Washington, leading in yards receiving during his senior season with the Huskies. Smith had 50 catches for 765 yards and four touchdowns.
