TULSA, Okla. (AP) — The University of Tulsa softball coaching staff has been selected the 2014 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Mideast Region Coaching Staff of the Year.

The NFCA announced the selection Wednesday.

The award honors head coach John Bargfeldt, associate head coach Crissy Strimple, assistant coach Brooke Smart and volunteer assistant coach Jeff Allen.

TU went 53-9, won both the Conference USA regular season and tournament championships and appeared in the NCAA Waco Regional.
