DRAPER, Utah (AP) — A prison official says a lockdown remains in place in some Utah State Prison units in Draper after a gang brawl left four inmates injured, including two with stab wounds.

Department of Corrections spokeswoman Brooke Adams said Wednesday that two inmates were in stable condition at an area hospital and two were treated at the prison infirmary.

Seven others involved in the fighting were taken to secure housing.

No names were made public.

Adams says prison visits and volunteer activities were suspended until Thursday at the prison's Wasatch, Oquirrh and Uinta facilities.

The entire prison was locked down after fighting began about 10 a.m. Wednesday in a common area of the Wasatch unit.

Adams says prison investigators will screen possible criminal charges with the Salt Lake County district attorney's office.
