RENO, Nev. (AP) — A Reno police sergeant's duties have been restricted after he was arrested on suspicion of DUI last weekend. Reno police say it's "regrettable" that 46-year-old Paul Sevcsik was arrested while he was off-duty Saturday night. Police haven't provided details on Sevcsik's blood alcohol content at the time of his arrest.

RENO, Nev. (AP) — State wildlife officials say the third consecutive year of drought in Nevada could result in the loss of some fisheries altogether by the end of the summer. It's already pushing rodents and snakes into urban neighborhoods they usually don't frequent in the Reno-Sparks area. Wildlife biologists expect bears to follow soon around Lake Tahoe.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A California man is jailed in Las Vegas pending a court appearance on attempted murder and other felony charges after a weekend stabbing in front of a Strip casino. Police say Miguel Treto of Azusa and stabbing victim Tevin Hayes were hospitalized with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. Police say the attack stemmed from an accidental bump and a racially charged exchange of words.

LAUGHLIN, Nev. (AP) — Officials say no arrest was immediately made after a 27-year-old man was fatally wounded with a broken beer bottle in a physical confrontation during the weekend at a home in Laughlin. Frederick Meyer died at Western Arizona Regional Medical Center in Bullhead City, Arizona. Police say detectives will submit the results of their investigation to the Clark County district attorney for possible criminal prosecution.
