MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — A Christian song writer and recording artist is joining the staff at the University of Mobile.

Jamie Harvill is becoming the artist in residence at the Christian university's school of worship leadership. He will teach a number of subjects meant to help develop church worship leaders.

Harvill graduated from the University of Mobile in 1989 and then began writing songs for the Colorado-based Integrity Music.

Harvill helped write worship songs including "Ancient of Days," which has sold more than 1 million copies worldwide. He's also worked as a session musician in Nashville, where he was music director for a church.

The University of Mobile has about 1,600 students in more than 40 academic programs.
