MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) — Cricket Australia says allrounder Nathan Coulter-Nile will miss the upcoming limited-overs tri-series tournament in Zimbabwe after hamstring surgery.
Australia team physiotherapist Alex Kountouris said Wednesday that Coulter-Nile had a recurring left hamstring tendon injury over the past four months and had surgery Tuesday "to give it the best chance of recovery."
Australia plays four ODIs against Zimbabwe and South Africa from Aug. 25 to Sep. 2.
Kountouris said the timing of the surgery and subsequent rehabilitation should have him available for tours by South Africa, India and England in the Australian summer.
