LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas police say the gunmen who killed a 54-year-old man apparently were looking for someone else when they opened fire Friday at a town house on the city's east side.
The coroner's office identified the victim Monday as Michael Thomas McCarthy.
Two women also were shot and a fourth person was injured in the attack about 11 a.m. Friday at the home near Sahara Avenue and Mojave Road. The two women remained Monday at area hospitals where their conditions were not disclosed.
Lt. Ray Steiber told KLAS-TV (http://tinyurl.com/pfupfjh ) two men knocked on the door and asked for someone who lives there. When they were told the person wasn't there, he says they starting shooting for "unknown reasons."
It's unclear if the fourth person hurt was hit by a bullet or other debris.
The shooting remains under investigation.
