ST. MARYS, Ontario (AP) — Former Montreal Expos star Tim Wallach was inducted into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame on Saturday
Wallach, now a bench coach for the Los Angeles Dodgers, was inducted along with former Expos broadcaster Dave Van Horne; Canadian Murray Cook, a former general manager with the New York Yankees, Expos and Cincinnati Reds; and the late Jim Ridley, a Canadian who scouted for Detroit and Toronto and coached Team Canada in the 1988 Olympics.
A five-time All-Star, three-time Gold Glove Award winner and two-time Silver Slugger Award winner, Wallach was drafted in 1979 by the Expos and played for the team from 1980 to 1992. He's the franchise leader in games, hits, doubles, RBIs and total bases. Following his time in Montreal, Wallach played three seasons with the Dodgers and one with the Los Angeles Angels, retiring after the 1996 season.
