BOISE, Idaho (AP) — The Idaho State Board of Education has amended its policy to conform to the new state law that allows guns on campus. KTVB-TV reports that the law goes into effect July 1. The law allows retired law enforcement officers and people with concealed-carry permits to bring firearms onto public college and university campuses. The law bans guns in dormitories, concert halls and stadiums holding more than 1,000 people.

SANDPOINT, Idaho (AP) — Authorities in northern Idaho say a piece of bone found in a remote area south of Sandpoint is likely part of a human skull. A person walking through the woods on June 10 found what appears to be the top portion of a skull. A Bonner County Sheriff's spokesman says an attempt could be made to extract DNA.

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — The fundraising organizer for the Fourth of July fireworks show in Twin Falls says the display will only be about 12 minutes long this year due to a lack of donations. The display is usually twice that long. She tells The Times-News that it costs about $1,000 per minute for the fireworks display.

SULA, Mont. (AP) — Officials say an airplane that crashed near a western Montana ski area, killing its pilot, was an antique that was being flown to Montana from Florida. Authorities say 62-year-old Michael Blume of Burnsville, Minnesota, was flying the twin-engine Grumman G-21 Goose amphibious plane. The plane crashed and caught fire Tuesday near the Montana-Idaho border.
