This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.
Few things in life are as important as someone's wedding day! Most little girls dream of the day they get to wear a beautiful dress and marry the man of their dreams.
Kathy Halford understands the significance of one's wedding day. For the past 25 years, she has been trying to ensure every bride's day is perfect through her business, The Bride's Shop, in Salt Lake City. The Bride's Shop is a full-service bridal salon that is prepared to outfit the entire wedding party from the bride and groom to bridesmaids, groomsmen, the mother of the bride and flower girls. The shop also carries wedding accessories including shoes and jewelry.
The shop is equipped to provide alterations in house. The main seamstress has several design degrees and can adapt a gown to fit anyone's needs. The Bride Shop can also "heirloom" — or clean and preserve a wedding gown in a keepsake chest after the wedding.
Kathy tells me her mother, Marguerite Grossi, started working in a bridal shop in upstate New York many years ago. After she moved to Utah, she was working part-time for the original owner of The Bride's Shop. When that person decided to pursue other interests, they asked Marguerite if she wanted to take over. In 1983, she officially opened the shop under her management.
Kathy grew up in the business, learning everything bridal from an early age. Although Marguerite passed away 11 years ago, Kathy has kept the business running smoothly. Over the years, Kathy expanded the gown selection to offer something for everyone. Eventually she would like to increase the store's selection and provide even more merchandise.
What really draws customers back to The Bride's Shop is its service and selection. Kathy and her staff care about each of their clients and enjoy getting to know them while helping to make sure everything goes smoothly for the client's special day.
For Zions Bank, I'm Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
