THIBODAUX, La. (AP) — The Lafourche Parish School Board will meet Wednesday to discuss several issues, including annual evaluations of Superintendent Jo Ann Matthews.
The Courier reports (http://bit.ly/1pfuaOj ) members are required to review the superintendent's performance every semester, once in fall and again in spring.
Each board member completes an observation report with scores ranging from 1 to 5, and then the review committee averages and totals the scores.
When doing performing evaluations, board members look at the superintendent's record, including how she manages the budget, the finances and employees. Matthews is also being evaluated on student test scores and performance.
At her semi-annual evaluation in January, Matthews was rated as "excellent" by School Board members.
