BIRTHDAY TOWN — We all have that special gift we secretly wish for every year. A pony, a Ferrari, world peace ... they all seem out of reach.
But for one little girl, her dream gift became a reality — and she could barely handle the excitement.
Watch Emma as she reads out a poem hinting that her new gift will require special care and attention. As she gets to the bottom it dawns on her that this present is a living, breathing thing. When she reads the word "puppy," she looks around the room as if to say "am I being Punk'd?"
Her first sight of the little pup (Winnie, according to the video) makes Emma's jaw drop and her eyes widen to saucers and she freezes, her hand midair where it was twisting her hair around absent-mindedly.
Then, she breaks down. Overwhelmed with what can only be gratitude and that feeling you get when all your dreams come true (however fleeting), she starts to sob as her gift is placed into her arms. The little bundle of brown fur cuddles up to her as she continues to cry, unable to speak. But she nods when a family member asks, "Do you love her?"
She finally manages a "thank you," then snuggles up closer to her incredibly well-loved puppy.
