NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Louisiana public schools and school districts are preparing to receive results of standardized tests given each year to students in grades three through eight.
The "LEAP" and "iLEAP" tests measure student achievement in English, mathematics, science and social studies. Results were set for distribution to schools and districts Tuesday evening.
The LEAP test is given to fourth- and eighth-graders and is a factor in decisions on whether they will be promoted or assigned remedial work. The iLEAP is used to assess progress of students in grades three, five, six and seven.
Schools and districts will share results with students and parents. The state Department of Education is expected to release an analysis of the results in the coming days.
