NORTH LOGAN, Utah (AP) — Two probation agents shot and wounded a man who was making demands and pulled out two guns in the emergency room of Cache Valley Hospital in North Logan.
Authorities say 34-year-old Jason Burr was shot four times and taken from the northern Utah hospital to a hospital in Salt Lake City, where he was listed in critical but stable condition on Friday.
North Park Police Chief Kim Hawkes said Burr was shot by two probation officers who happened to be at the hospital with a parolee. It's not clear if Burr fired any shots. Hawkes also didn't reveal what demands Burr was making.
Nobody else was injured.
Online court records show that Burr pleaded guilty in August 2010 to falsely obtaining and dispensing prescription drugs and was sentenced to 30 days in jail.
