BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A former Bismarck middle school teacher scheduled to stand trial next week on allegations she had sex with a 15-year-old boy has pleaded guilty.
Thirty-five-year-old Susan Duursma was charged in September with three counts of felony corruption or solicitation with a minor. Authorities say she had sexual contact with the student from March 2013 to July 2013.
Duursma pleaded guilty Friday to one count of abuse of a child.
The Bismarck Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1jozM4p) that the plea agreement calls for Duursma to serve three months in prison. A judge will decide whether to accept the plea deal.
Duursma was a physical education teacher at Wachter Middle School. She resigned in February after school district officials suspended her without pay in November.
