NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) — A 31-year-old man has been arrested in the 2012 shooting death of a man outside a North Las Vegas convenience store.

Clark County prosecutors say 31-year-old Jessie Arrendondo-Mariscal was booked Thursday on an open murder charge into the county jail after waiving extradition from San Diego, where he was arrested.

Police say he entered El Paso Market in August 2012 with two other men and one of the men asked 27-year-old Daniel Chavez Garcia where he was from.

Arrendondo-Mariscal is accused of shooting Garcia several times after Garcia replied he was from Blythe, Calif.

Police used video surveillance footage to help identify him as the suspect.

He's scheduled to appear in court Monday morning.
