The weather is getting warmer, and it's time to start thinking about sunscreen, and staying safe while you're outside.
Tyler Nelson PA-C, MPH from University of Utah Healthcare has these ideas to help you, and your skin stay protected this summer.
Put on sunscreen about 30 minutes before you go out in the sun. And make sure you apply it on your arms and legs too. Clothing doesn't necessarily block all of the sun's rays.
You need to look for a sunscreen labeled "broad spectrum" and covers both UVA and UVB rays. It also should have an SPF of 30 or higher.
And when you're out, reapply every two hours. If you're playing in the water, reapply every 80 minutes.
