Try to imagine what it was like, being a home heating and cooling company serving mainly the new home market in 2008. At that time, it was a major challenging business situation. And yet, Chad and Chauntel Hansen of Hansen HVAC Services decided to stick with it. They tightened their belt, diversified and buckled down. And, now, six years later their West Jordan company is stronger than ever. That's American and Utah business grit at work and shows why Utah has one of the strongest business climates in the nation.
This year Hansen HVAC Services is celebrating their 18th anniversary of being in business and has grown steadily to a team of 30 employees. All service techs are N-A-T-E certified, which is the highest certification a heating and air conditioning service tech can get. Their services include furnace, AC, water heaters, gas lines and outdoor gas installations like Tiki torches or specialty gas lines. Inside, they provide filtration like humidifiers and air purifiers. They also offer 24-hour service for all major brands they stock.
While service and repair is now about a third of their business, their main focus is still in new construction and commercial work. In fact, they were involved with an Extreme Makeover project filmed in Utah a few years ago and Hansen HVAC Services provided all the HVAC work. Chad says it was a great opportunity for the company, from the suppliers who donated the materials to his employees who volunteered their time to the project.
They're now entering the busy season with people switching their air conditioners on. Despite some seasonality, Chad says business is pretty constant throughout the year.
The HVAC industry is very competitive so Hansen HVAC Services has worked to distinguish themselves through quality of work, and by being honest and prompt on service calls. This is a company known for standing by their word.
