GARDEN CITY, Rich County — A 56-year-old man died while diving at Bear Lake on Saturday afternoon.
At approximately 1:44 p.m., the Rich County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call for a diving incident in the area of Cisco Beach. The man, identified as Greg Jonas, of West Valley City, had been diving with others in approximately 90 to 100 feet of water, according to a Facebook post by the sheriff's office.
Jonas was airlifted to Logan Regional Hospital, where he later died, the post said.
No other information was immediately available.
"We extend our deepest condolences to (Jonas's) family, friends, and loved ones and all those affected by this tragic loss," the post said.
