UNDATED (AP) — Bad weather has forced the postponement of two baseball games this evening. So far, the Cubs at Yankees and Indians at Tigers games have been called. The Yankees and Cubs will make their game up tomorrow afternoon.
CINCINNATI (AP) — This evening's schedule of games starts in Cincinnati. The Reds and Pirates will complete the game they started last night before engaging in tonight's regularly scheduled game. When play was called last night the score was tied 7-7.
NEW YORK (AP) — Instant replay is working, or so says the head of baseball's Internet company. Bob Bowman, the chief executive officer of MLB Advanced Media, told a panel discussion that through Monday, calls by umpires on the field have been confirmed in 33 of 89 challenges and overturned in 30. For 25 others, calls stood because of a lack of "clear and convincing'" evidence. In one instance, umpires asked for a video review to check the balls-strike count.
UNDATED (AP) — Tonight is the second to last night of play in the NBA's regular season. There are just two games on the agenda with the Nets entertaining the Knicks and the Clippers at home to Denver.
BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) — The University of California-Berkeley has a new men's basketball coach. Cuonzo Martin is leaving Tennessee to replace the retired Mike Montgomery. Martin went 63-41 in three seasons at Tennessee, including a 24-13 mark and an appearance in the regional semifinals of the NCAA tournament this season.
