BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A southwestern Idaho boy was seriously injured yesterday afternoon when he was struck by an 18-wheeler. Boise police say the 5-year-old child was riding a bicycle when the truck hit him near the intersection of Cole Road and Fairview Avenue. Police have closed the road in order to reconstruct the crash.
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — An Idaho man has been arrested after a runner was injured during a hit-and-run crash in McCammon. The Idaho State Police say they arrested 36-year-old Chancy Lancaster of Kimberly on Friday, a day after 48-year-old runner Mark Haddock was struck and injured. Lancaster faces a felony charge of leaving the scene of an accident.
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — An Elmore County jailer caught on video flinging a female inmate into a wall was sentenced Friday. Sgt. Tom Robison was ordered to spend five days in jail or complete 100 hours of community service for his role in the December 2012 incident. Robison was reduced in rank, but continues to work at the jail.
COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) — A movie set to be released later this week focuses on the 2002 murder of a northern Idaho man and the drug smuggling rivalry that led to the crime. Director John Stockwell told the Coeur d'Alene Press that he was fascinated by the crime story after reading about it in Rolling Stone. He took it to HBO films to be optioned, and the movie, "Kid Cannabis," will be released on April 18.
