LEAWOOD, Kan. (AP) — Authorities say charges could come as early as tomorrow against white-supremacist Frazier Glenn Cross, who is accused of a shooting rampage yesterday outside the Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City that killed three people. Cross had a history of anti-Semitic beliefs but all of the victims were Christians. One man was taking his grandson to a singing competition. The third victim was visiting her mother at a nearby retirement complex. The Southern Poverty Law Center says Cross also went by the name Frazier Glenn Miller.

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Prosecutors in suburban Los Angeles say two registered sex offenders who have known each other since at least 2012 have been charged with raping and killing four Southern California women since last year. Franc Cano and Steven Dean Gordon have each been charged with special circumstances murder and rape. If convicted, the men face a minimum sentence of life without parole and could face the death penalty.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama and Russian leader Vladimir Putin have spoken by phone. It was their first time speaking in more than two weeks. The White House says there is "overwhelming evidence" that Moscow is behind unrest in eastern Ukraine. The Kremlin is rejecting Western claims that Russian agents are involved in violent protests against Ukraine's new government.

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Newly released notes from lawyers who interviewed New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie say he was "nervous" about finding out if anyone else on his staff was involved in a politically motivated traffic jam scandal. The notes show Christie pulled together key members of his government and political teams after the scandal broke.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Federal authorities in Las Vegas have filed charges against a Phoenix woman accused of throwing a shoe on stage while Hillary Rodham Clinton gave a convention speech. The trespassing and violence charges lodged against Alison Michelle Ernst come as local prosecutors consider a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge in state court.
