KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia is speaking at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
According to the school, Scalia will present the College of Law's annual Rose Lecture at noon on Tuesday.
The event is open to law students, faculty, staff, alumni and other members of the campus community. Members of the federal, state and local judiciary also may attend.
College of Law Dean Doug Blaze said Scalia's lecture will give students and the larger campus community a closer look at the important issues the Supreme Court and the country are facing today.
Scalia was appointed to the Supreme Court in 1986 by President Ronald Reagan and is the longest-serving justice currently on the court.
This will be Scalia's second visit to UT. He visited previously in 1990.
