TOP STORIES:

EARHART SUIT

CHEYENNE — Dueling experts disagree whether underwater images captured by an aircraft preservation group in the South Pacific show the wreckage of aviation pioneer Amelia Earhart's Lockheed Electra, which disappeared in the 1930s. Wyoming resident Tim Mellon, an heir to the American banking fortune, is pressing a federal lawsuit against a group that he claims found the wreckage of the plane but did not disclose it so it could raise more money for more searches -- a claim the group dismisses as absurd. Trial is set for August. By Ben Neary. UPCOMING: 600 words by 3 p.m.

WYOMING HORSE ROUNDUP

CHEYENNE — The Bureau of Land Management rounded up a horse herd that roamed for decades on federal land in northwest Wyoming and handed the horses over to Wyoming officials, who sold the herd to the highest bidder — a Canadian slaughterhouse. By Mead Gruver. UPCOMING: 630 words by 3 p.m. AP Photos LA301-304, MTBIL301.

WYOMING-STANTON

LARAMIE — When in doubt, consult the scripture. Wyoming senior Jordan Stanton's left wrist is wrapped with tape. On it, what looks like a small essay is scribbled in blue ink. Line after line is scrawled, some of it blurred by contact, working its way from the front of his wrist to the side, to the underside. By Mike Vorel, Casper Star-Tribune. SENT: 720 words.
