No new electronic pings have been heard since April 8.
RED BLUFF, Calif. (AP) — Federal investigators say they have found no signs that the driver whose tractor-trailer slammed into a bus on a northern California highway attempted to brake before the crash. They found no tire marks as the truck careened across Interstate 5 and slammed into the bus taking high school students to a tour of a university. Ten people were killed in Thursday's crash.
BOURNE, Mass. (AP) — Authorities say two Massachusetts workers were killed Saturday when their bucket truck apparently tipped over while they were in the basket more than 100 feet in the air at a Cape Cod site. The Cape Cod Times reports the men were working for a contractor at a utility project. The Office of Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Vice President Joe Biden will visit Ukraine later this month to meet with government and citizen leaders. The White House says Biden will travel to the capital of Kiev on April 22 for a visit that will focus on the international community's efforts to help stabilize and strengthen Ukraine's economy.
CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) — A repair job in space is being set up for the International Space Station. NASA officials at Cape Canaveral have ordered the spacewalk in response to what they consider a serious computer outage. A backup computer for some robotic systems failed Friday. The main computer is fine and the crew is safe, but the malfunction puts next week's supply run in jeopardy.
